Remember the Freelance files blog post I was going to share with you all?? Well here is my first FF post. Annette and I had a meeting in Downtown LA so we decided instead of being in traffic in the middle of rush hour, why not just go explore. We were walking around the art district in LA and came across some very large containers. These containers looked really cool and we couldn’t resist to see what they were all about. One container was a juice bar, another one a coffee shop and last one was this cute little “boutique” pop up shop. What an awesome idea, and all of them owned by women entrepreneurs! We were lured in by a friendly smile and a warmed welcome from Erin, owner of Brooklyn Born Vintage. Being from the East Coast myself we immediately hit it off. We were laughing and chatting like we’ve known each other for years. We later had the pleasure to meet Nicolle owner of Latin Posh. Next thing you know we are all planning on how we can collaborate in the future(coming soon promise).
Brooklyn Born Vintage is a stylist + Latin Posh sells planners, calendars and super chic jewelry. Follow them on Instagram as well. @brooklynbornvintage + @latinposh. If you are ever in LA area go say hi to our new friends. Annette took some pretty shots of the space and of Erin so I wanted to share with you all. Don’t forget to support local businesses. I can’t believe it’s been over two years since I’ve shared with you dolls my photoshop template, for this moodboard. I started creating moodboards as the first step to designing my clients branding. It helps with the process and makes it easier to visualize what the client wants to see in the next step. Whether you’re new to making mood boards, or if you already love making them, this free templates can be really helpful. Since I’m going with a new minimal style for my loft, I decided to create a minimal moodboard inspired by RowanMade.
I even decided to create my own, I’ve selected images from pinterest that were inspired by all of the traveling I did in 2015. My travels last year include places like Thailand, Hawaii, Mexico and to endless road trips to Napa Valley, Arizona, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Pismo Beach, etc; 2015 was magical. Below you can download the new moodboard template, and I’ve also include instructions on how to use the template to add your own images in the photoshop files. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you need any help.
Thank you babes for all of the nice emails regarding the previous moodboard and your feedback. Follow me on Instagram @pinkcreativestudio share your moodboard and hash tag #pcsmoodboard. Xoxo Kenia-

Freelance files will be a collaborate collection of blog post; such as design, exploring, social media, business and important topics regarding being a freelancer. I really enjoy blogging and honestly I just don’t find the time to upload all my thoughts. I want to share with you all some of the tips, I’ve learned throughout my 5 years as a designer. The good, the bad and the craziness that comes with being your own boss.
There was a point in my life where I had three jobs and going to college, how crazy is that?! I would end up going to the wrong job because my schedule was so hectic. That’s when I started organizing my life and focusing on writing everything down (I’m a planner horder:P), making a schedule and organizing my life as categories. It sounds weird but I’ve always been a workaholic and this system truly works for me.
How do you keep up with a crazy schedule? What other topics are you guys interested in reading? Xoxo Kenia-

Pink Creative Studio got a mini facelift. It’s been about a year since I’ve been wanting to redesign my website. Ok same excuse, I’m busy, I don’t have time, and honestly having creative freedom sucks. Even though my branding was completed in June 2015, I’ve been slowly making little changes and now I’m so happy with the final design. Plus is a new year and it was the perfect time to rebrand. Designing for yourself has to be one of the hardest things. Creative possibilities are ALWAYS endless, and at the end of the day you just want to stick with something already. As frustrating it can be, it’s also nice you are able to push yourself creatively and have a design you actual LOVE. It’s your vision and at the end of the day as long as you are happy, that is really what matters.
I’m always inspired by typography, fashion and travel. These past few years I felt like I was all over the place and traveled so much therefore my creative juices were flowing. I was inspired by the sky lately it has been every shade of pink and gold tones and it’s just magical. The sunsets and sunrise in Thailand, Portugal, Colombia, Australia, Jamaica and all over the USA. I love the color pink but I mainly wanted the website to adapt a black and white look with a hint of gold and pink. I’m obsessed with minimal everything, lately I even decluttered my own loft/studio and home to be just very minimal. Let me know what you guys think of the new branding. I also wanted to let you all know that this year, I will be creating a lot of new designs but I will be doing a lot of giveways along with some awesome collaborations. Make sure to follow us on Instagram @pinkcreativestudio and Facebook where I will be posting all the giveaway. xo Kenia
Bits of Faith is curated by Nichole Bailey. Alon the project manager for this project worked with Nichole to get all the details on her vision for Bits of Faith. Honestly, this has been the BEST client ever. The creative process although given some direction was total creative freedom. As a designer this is a dream come true. I felt inspired by Nichole’s affirmations and admire her for determination and her faith. Check out the live website Bits of Faith .
